February 1 – February 10, 2026
Giant penguin colonies, hundreds of whales, seals, countless bird species, and of course — towering icebergs in mesmerizing shades of deep blue. All this and more await you on our journey to the seventh continent.
Antarctica has always captured the imagination of humankind and the world’s greatest explorers — from Shackleton to Scott and Amundsen. They were all drawn to the mystery of the unknown, to the dream of reaching the southernmost edge of the world. Some even gave their lives in pursuit of it.
We invite you on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to explore the most extraordinary place on Earth. With close guidance from the PhotoTeva team, you’ll return with not just memories — but unforgettable moments.
All the photos on this page were taken during our past expeditions to Antarctica.
Professional guidance and an amazing team of lecturers on nature, animals, landscapes and history
Small ship – only 65 participants
A special charter flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island and back, saving us time on the world’s roughest seas.
Ocean Nova is one of the most trusted and capable vessels for polar exploration. A perfect choice for nature lovers and adventure seekers, the ship accommodates just 64 guests, allowing for more time on shore and better wildlife encounters. Unlike large cruise ships carrying thousands, Ocean Nova can access remote landing sites that bigger vessels simply can’t reach.
The ship offers three cabin types, all thoughtfully designed with large windows that look out onto the frozen landscapes of the world’s southern edge. Each cabin includes a work desk, a comfortable bed, individually controlled heating, and a private bathroom with a shower.
The highly professional onboard team includes expert guides in biology, wildlife, history, and geology. Guests will enjoy guided shore landings, scenic hikes, and plenty of wildlife watching.
To elevate your experience, Ocean Nova also offers excellent cuisine, a panoramic-view bar, a welcoming lounge, a library, a gym, and more — creating a warm, comfortable atmosphere as you journey through one of the planet’s most extraordinary regions.
Our package includes a direct flight from Chile to Antarctica — soaring over the infamous Drake Passage.
Thankfully, you won’t have to experience the legendary Drake Passage firsthand, known for its massive waves and stormy conditions. Instead of spending 2.5 days each way at sea — wasting precious time and energy — you’ll enjoy a smooth, two-hour flight aboard a specially chartered aircraft, arranged exclusively for this journey.
Upon landing on King George Island, just a short walk from the airstrip, you’ll board Zodiac boats that will take you straight to the Ocean Nova, your home for this unforgettable polar expedition.
Quality. Safety. Unforgettable Experiences.
If you’re going all the way to Antarctica, it’s worth doing it right — with maximum freedom, better opportunities, and no time wasted on less exciting stops. Most importantly, our small-group expeditions bring you closer to the wildlife and the raw beauty of nature.
This isn’t a crowded cruise with hundreds of passengers. A smaller group means more time with the animals, more meaningful encounters, and far better photo opportunities.
Please arrive in Punta Arenas before 14:00. Our team will meet you and transfer you to the hotel. Today we’ll hold mandatory safety briefings and an introductory talk about the ship and what to expect in the coming days.
In the evening, we’ll enjoy a festive welcome dinner (included) and raise a toast to our upcoming expedition.
Overnight: Cabo de Hornos Hotel
We begin our journey with a two-hour charter flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island. After a short walk from the landing strip to the shore, Zodiac boats will take us to our ship – our home for the duration of the voyage.
If the flight arrives on time in the morning, we’ll aim for a first landing in the South Shetland Islands, where we may visit a beach with a colony of 4,000 chinstrap penguins.
Overnight we’ll sail across the Bransfield Strait to our next destination.
Overnight: Onboard
In the morning, we’ll be in a stunning bay, home to seals and penguins. During lunch, we’ll sail to Wilhelmina Bay, known for its large whale population.
We plan to launch Zodiacs at sunset for close encounters, then return to the ship for the night.
Overnight: Onboard
In the morning we arrive at the Lemaire Channel, one of the most beautiful places in Antarctica, and sail through it with breathtaking views.
Around midday we’ll land on Petermann Island, home to large colonies of Adélie and chinstrap penguins. All of them are busy raising their fast-growing chicks.
After lunch onboard, we’ll explore an area known for whales and leopard seals. In the afternoon and evening, we’ll continue sailing south toward the Antarctic Circle.
Overnight: Onboard
Overnight we cross Crystal Sound, home to fjords, islands, wildlife, and massive icebergs.
We’ll land during the day depending on wildlife activity in the area.
Very few ships sail this far south, giving us extra freedom.
By evening, we’ll reach our southernmost point: Adelaide and Detaille Islands — once home to research stations, and now the southernmost colonies of Adélie penguins and cormorants.
The sun won’t set tonight as we cross the Antarctic Circle.
Overnight: Onboard
After a later breakfast (we stayed up late last night!), we’ll arrive at Port Charcot on Booth Island for a landing filled with penguins and an optional scenic hike.
During lunch, we’ll sail north to Flanders Bay and aim to launch Zodiacs in the late afternoon if ice conditions allow — this bay is known for whale sightings.
Zodiac time will depend on wildlife activity.
Overnight: Onboard
We’ll begin the day at Neko Harbor, considered one of the most beautiful spots in Antarctica.
For those interested, there’s a hiking route to a spectacular viewpoint; for wildlife lovers, hundreds of penguins and seals line the beaches.
During lunch, we sail to Cuverville Island for more wildlife watching.
In the evening, we enter Orne Harbor to photograph chinstrap penguins in dramatic evening light.
Overnight: Onboard
After breakfast, we’ll sail into the flooded caldera of Deception Island through Neptune’s Bellows.
We’ll walk along the beach and learn about the historic research station and the two major volcanic eruptions of the 20th century.
Great opportunities for photography and hiking to Neptune’s Window.
This is also the ideal spot for a polar plunge for anyone brave enough to swim.
From here we sail to Half Moon Island, a crescent-shaped island with large chinstrap penguin colonies, fur seals, and occasionally elephant seals.
Overnight: Onboard
In the morning, we arrive at King George Island — likely a little tired after an intense and emotional expedition.
Flight times will be confirmed with the crew. If time allows, we’ll make a final landing.
Otherwise, we’ll walk via the Chilean base back to the airstrip for our return flight.
During the two-hour flight, we’ll enjoy a meal while watching the wild waves of the Drake Passage from above.
Upon arrival, we’ll return to the hotel for a final night of rest.
Overnight: Cabo de Hornos Hotel
After breakfast, transfers will be provided to the Punta Arenas airport.
You can continue your journey home — or explore more of Chilean Patagonia with one of our recommended post-expedition tours or photo workshops.
