We’ll meet in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, and continue with a domestic flight directly to the Masai Mara Reserve (saving long hours of driving). Upon arrival, our local team will welcome us and take us to our lodge.
Accommodation: Tipilikwan Mara Camp or similar.
We’ll wake up early and head out for a full day of safari in the Masai Mara – one of the most renowned and diverse nature reserves in Africa. Named after the local Maasai tribe and the Mara River, the reserve is home to nearly 100 species of mammals, close to 400 species of birds, and of course Africa’s Big Five – elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo, and leopard. After sunset, we’ll return to our lodge, beautifully located on the banks of the Talek River (a main tributary of the Mara), for dinner and an optional photography session to sharpen our wildlife photography skills.
Accommodation: Tipilikwan Mara Camp or similar.
Each day we’ll venture into the vast open plains of the reserve, searching for the famous lion prides among the rocky outcrops (Masai Mara holds the highest concentration of African lions in the continent), as well as cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Long hours in the field, guided by expert local trackers, will give us the chance to witness moments straight out of a National Geographic documentary. In the evenings, time and energy permitting, we’ll enjoy photo reviews, lectures, or just gather under Africa’s spectacular star-filled skies.
Accommodation: Tipilikwan Mara Camp or similar.
At sunrise, we’ll embark on one final game drive in the magical Masai Mara, followed by a domestic flight back to Nairobi – saving time on the road and concluding an unforgettable wildlife photography journey.
